What are trading volumes and how do they affect my portfolio?

Trading volumes are the amount of trades that are taking place in a particular stock. The more people trading a stock, the more liquidity that stock has. Liquidity means there is demand which makes it easier for you to sell your stocks.

As the USA is the largest stock market in the world, stocks that are listed on other markets outside the USA may have lower trading volumes because the market is less accessible so there are less people trading on that market.

Please know, the value of investments can go up as well as down and you may receive back less than your original investment, meaning, when investing your capital is at risk.
